Optimum Survey Bot leaving Twitter for now

What do I need to know?

You may be familiar with our Twitter account @botOptimum, which tweets out responses to our Optimum Satisfaction survey.

We recently received the email displayed to the right from Zapier, the service we use to make these automated tweets, regarding making changes to their usage policy.

In short, they are now requiring that all users of their service now pay $19.99/month to use their Twitter integration.

This is in response to recent policy changes by Twitter, regarding how they handle 3rd-party app access.

What does this mean for me?

The short version is, starting on May 19th, we will unfortunately have to stop tweeting from this account until further notice. Our organization has very limited funds and we have been making use of the Free Zapier account.

In order for us to continue, we would have to pay for their Premium plan, at $19.99/month. Most of our limited budget have been focused on Tax Preparation for our 501(c)3 status, which FIC Staff has been paying for out of pocket.

What can I do to help?

If you would like for us to keep sharing these posts via Twitter, consider donating to us on Patreon for as little as $1/month. https://www.patreon.com/fairinternet

We will also accept one-time donations of any amount. Please email: info@fairinternetcoalition.org for inquiries.

Anything else I should know?

We would also like to remind out followers and supporters that we will continue to auto-post all of our survey responses (including those from Comcast, Verizon, Cox, etc.) on our Slack Workspace #slackbot channel.

Thank you for your ongoing support!
